The County Attorney makes the decisions about when to hold 'em, fold 'em, walk away or run. It's like horse handicapping because you never know what the jury will do. They will make smaller payouts just to make the case go away, but larger amounts are paid when there's a good chance of losing. Losing in front of a jury is the absolute worst outcome because of lawyer egos and financial risk involved.
