One dead in officer-involved shooting in southwest Louisville

Why is this such a hard concept for some to grasp? It's not a good idea at all to shoot at law enforcement....will most likely ruin your day.

Why is it when an officer makes a 'good' shoot, they are on light duty for months?

if you want some perspective into Obama: He is NOT the fool he plays himself to be. Most of America believes he is just ineffective and too inexperienced and that is why all of his plans/schemes backfire. He isn't racist either; though some of his staff is. He just plays the race card to change the subject and make the sheep forget what they were focusing on. Have you ever thought that what is happening in our country is EXACTLY what he wanted to occur? He is quite shrewd. If you believe he is an idiot - he fooled you. They are both spot on accurate.

Officer involved shooting are incredibly complex investigations. Not because of the incident, but becauise of the political and social realities that agencies must face.

In this case, William Chad Mattingly, a convicted felon, with pending drug charges had been released by the court. To ensure that he would be safe from other drug realers he was obviously in possession of a hand gun, yet another illegal act on his part. For which ever reason he dicides to shoot at our officers. Our officers are forced to return fire. Seems cut and dried, correct. The suspect, Mattingly, made that decision.

Yet our chief refers to him initially as a victim. He is not the victim. He is the now deceased suspect, a felon in possession of a firearm, who in turn made our officers the victims of HIS actions.

I understand why the investigations are complex, I get it, I really do. But why can't our leadership call the cards like they are played? For once. Please.

It isn't hard. It isn't rocket science, it really isn't.

My prayers are directed to our officers. If you read this, please know you made it to the end of shift. You made it home. You REACTED to the decision of another. You can not change what he did, but you can now take the time to let your family know you love them.
