uhh.. yeah. like the puzzle palace. I don't recall news people ever being around when I got some kids on my beat bicycles, backpacks, etc. oh, yeah. my fault - that was the south end/Dixie hwy area.

Not bashing the officer or the kids in this case. It's not their fault the libmonsters cater to certain areas.

All the big companies do it too. They will call the news to tell them about a group of employees volunteering at a shelter. The PIO would probably set that up. If the city had more secure youth centers and athletic facilities they could keep kids away from the gangs "that don't exist" and street crime. You can't stop crime just be locking people up. Thats only half of the solution. The other half isn't more town hall meetings and gripe sessions for community agitators either. Its effectively communicating with people on your beat and having deterrents to a life of crime, like positive activities for kids and jobs for their parents.

Hey Idiots... the kids family called the media trying to find out who the officer was to say "thank you" and the dept sent an email to the 4th and found out that way. The Officer nor Dept nor PIO called the media... SOOOO NEG PEOPLE.

You must be the same kind of idiot who sits there and bitches because the media only portrays police in a negative light. I don't care if he called the news himself. He took it upon himself to do something nice for kids and is now shining a positive light on police at a time that we need it in the news.
