I am so glad people are starting to talk about the militarization of police departments. For years I have watched LMPD units behave like a small military. I remember one Derby watching real Humvees ride down Broadway. For the brass to not see a problem with that image is why I know I am better than most people on LMPD. The mentality of some on the department is astonishing! Some of the guys in those units couldn't write a coherent report if they had to...they just like the toys and the fraternization.
