The individual you are referring to has left the department. Don't be jealous of people in that job making the same money you make. Being a Detective can be cool but it can also suck much worse than patrol if you have a life outside of work.

Having cameras is a good idea regardless. If criminals know they're being taped that's one more reason to deter them from being violent or trying to lie about what happened. The Ferguson suspect's shooting wasn't video taped and led to riots. A St. Louis suspect's shooting a week later was taped and everybody knew the police were defending themselves.

I agree....... There are more serious complaints steaming from the VIPER Unit rather than Patrol. I'm sure the Chief will put cameras on the viper officers too.
