Only a $25,000 bond for a parolee who had murdered a woman in the past and almost killed people while eluding police, which allowed him to murder another woman. There's the American court system in a nutshell. Why didn't they revoke his parole, hold him with no bond, or at least send him back to Utah? Why is a Utah parolee allowed to be in Indiana in the first place?

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. —A man on parole for killing his girlfriend and shooting her mother in Utah has been arrested on a murder charged in Jeffersonville. Police have charged Joseph Oberhansley with murder after police found a woman's body in a home in the 300 block of Locust Road in Jeffersonville on Thursday morning. "The person did appear to have been significantly injured. We do have a body that has suffered from some violence. We will know more later," said Jeffersonville Detective Todd Hollis. Oberhansley is on parole in Utah for shooting and killing his girlfriend and shooting and injuring her mother in 1998. In July, he was arrested by metro police after a chase that started in southern Indiana and ended in Louisville. Prosecutors asked the judge to increase his bond to $25,000 cash after his July arrest.

Maybe it wasn't such a great idea to license 16 businesses to serve alcohol by the drink right next to the Yum Center. They city is certainly making a lot more money off the alcohol sales than they're spending on stopping crime or DUI's though. LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The sister of a pregnant woman and her family hit by a car while leaving the KFC Yum! Center describes a terrifying scene.

"It was fast. It all happened so fast. If I could have pulled them away I would have pulled them out," said Alishia Kozak, of Louisville, the victim's sister.

Weighing two pounds, Nathan is currently in stable, but serious condition at the Center for Women and Infants at University of Louisville Hospital. Kozak says the family is hopeful, but it is too early to tell if he will make it.
