Group alleges LMPD racially profiled teens, calls for more oversight

Unfortunately the chief agreed to certain conditions to take the job. Most of us know one of those conditions was the staff stays in place when you assume the position of chief. Further any promotions at staff levels will be vetted by the Mayors staff prior to any promotions, and so on. Now about our promotions to Major and above, so you are a Lieutenant the last protected rank by merit. You have a family served on the street and now you are offered a nice boost in pay and promotion to the appointed rank of Major. Well you want to take care of your officers, offer suggestions to make the department better, try to make a difference in the community, and be a leader (lol)! Problem........you must be in lockstep with the agendas and political ideology of the current liberal governing body in Louisville city hall. Stats, activity per shift per officer, meaningless generation of insignificant data as it relates to real policing. So you make a decision stay a Major or above and march to the tune of the flute player and retire with a better pension, or stand up for your officers and the citizens you serve? Unfortunately for us most elect to stay in lockstep. So I agree we do have some incompetent commanders, but most made a conscious decision. We know who they are.
