Mob violence OT costs city almost $1 million

Hmmmm, reminds me of this previous post:

BICYCLES AND AUTOMOBILES do not mix. Not a good combo at all! See, there's this weight and engine difference between the two. Bike riders should stay on the sidewalks the way God intended. No sidewalk? Tarc. Otherwise, keep to the low traffic neighborhood streets. High traffic, major roadways are no place for bikes. This has been public service announcement. Let's be careful out there.

I'm sure the thought that went into the planning and design of the bike lanes is a contributing factor and will result in similar incidents in the future. The city might want to get out their check book. Don't worry though, I'm also sure the mayor has a contingency plan on stand-by to raise taxes in order to offset the cost of punitive damages.
