Jefferson County sheriff's deputies in trouble after trying to serve warrant |
RE: Jefferson County sheriff's deputies in trouble after trying...
The saddest part about your comment is that the unity displayed in the aftermath of a fallen officer is for the most part, an illusion. Animosity is rampant now and there seems to be a total lack of general respect shown to anyone. When I came on twenty years ago, the old timers on day work were guys that I looked up to. Many were Vietnam veterans. Most came up through "fleeing felon" and the chaos of the late 60's early 70's and they did it for close to minimum wage. I was well aware that they weren't out there jumping street corners late in their career but I respected them for what they HAD done. They did it without the technology that we take for granted and they were good at what they did. It made me sad to see them retire but I feel that I am a better man for having known them.

Brothers can fight amongst themselves, but pick on one and you have to answer to them all.
