West Buechel police chief resigns amid turmoil

The law says they can decertify officers who don't meet POPS, but doesn't say anything about the state having a power to decertify a whole department if the Acting Chief isn't city council approved. DOCJT doesnt't have blanket powers to do whatever they want. Its very specific and they are only monitoring the POPS standards. Nobody will jump into a local matter until a very clear line has been crossed, like the Mayor trying to appoint a convicted felon. There's always next time to try that.
