Louisville Metro is exempt from all state and federal laws, at least until they get sued or raided by Feds with warrants.

If the people whom you mentioned; detectives, sergeants, lieutenants, majors, chiefs, safety directors, etc, are violating state law, why don't you lead the way and start issuing citations. If you are a sworn law enforcement officer, you would be well within your right, not to mention your sworn obligation to do so. Then all of your chest thumping here will actually have some meaning. Until then, you might try to continue crossing your arms and pouting anonymously. If that doesn't work out for you, you might need to go for the "nuclear option". Close your eyes, stomp your feet and hold your breath until everyone else falls in line and starts adhering to the letter of the law as you see it. Maybe you'll be able to have an impact once you take the promotional exam. That'll show em'...Then you'll have your revenge. "Muah, ha, ha!"
