For starters, I hate when people always use the take-home car program as some sort of leverage. Like we should all jump for joy and zip our lips just to have one. Give me a break!!! Yes, I am in the program, but my car is a basket case. It has damaged my driveway with oil spots. It is borderline unsafe to drive yet I'm supposed to be "just thankful"? Secondly, where do you get the City is "giving something" away with a 12-hour shift? The City doesn't care about the schedules of sworn personnel.
