Todays soldier has done multiple combat deployments. In WW2 the average solder first saw action in 1944 and the war was over 45. Vietnam the average soldier was drafted and served 1 tour. 1000 yard mortar shells didn't create 7000 fatalities and 20,000 wounded since 9/11, Yes over 60,000 were killed in Nam...but last time I checked the Senior officers today aren't Vietnam Vets. Senior officers today are products of the 70s and 80's, bragging about how badass they were back on the city or county...and they were the "cream of the crop" before the college/military requirement, when they beat out hundreds of crackheads that could put an application in. Or bragging about being at Checkpoint Charlie and shining boots.
