Most of the younger vets get in for 2-4 years and get out. It's a tiny minority of the youth. An even tinier minority become true combat vets. Getting a mortar lobbed within 1000 yards of you while shopping at the exchange does not make you combat vet. Saying they're somehow like the WW2 generation is ridiculous. A lot more of Vietnam generation actually went to war and died than the millenials.
