Jefferson County attorney denies stacking district judge races

People are motivated to go to work for many reasons, some of which are intrinsic and some of which are not. You also have to make a living. LMPD pays so little that officers feel compelled to work off duty. When you work off duty, you don't want to screw up your daily schedule with unplanned court appearances. If you think public safety doesn't take a hit with that reverse incentive in place, then you are wrong. The end result is more bad guys walking the streets, free to shoot, rob, and rape. The city has always been run by short sighted politicians with tunnel vision focused on a few issues, none of which has ever been public safety.
