He is not anymore skilled than Mack Brown at coaching. If he wins a national title it will be because of recruiting. Texas just hasn't gotten the caliber of players they used to get when alumni could pay players without much fear of getting caught, and when they usually had to stay in college 4 years until going to the NFL

If he doesn't win their Conference next year people will start trying to replace him. Their alumni donors will not be happy unless they're number 1.
