Corrections officers get zero respect from police. Most cops today have no idea what we do in the jail and how hard this job can be on a person. I wish we could learn to work together but there will always be those few that want to think they are superior to us. I have a master's degree and enjoy the work I've done here and have no desires to move over to police. I get unlimited overtime and all the off duty details I want.
