Being able to qualify at short range is not good enough for those called on to save people like you from captors having a gun to your head. It's not good enough for officers who get into a shootout with determined armed robbers wearing body armor or carrying rifles. It's not good enough for anyone who needs to place their shots accurately enough to miss the people standing next to the guy spraying bullets. If you think of yourself a professional law enforcement officer, then it shouldn't be good enough for you either. I don't accept mediocrity especially when it can cost lives. Spending extra on match grade pistols and a rifle is an insurance policy that is well worth the price when you run into some of the more hardcore criminals out there.
