Not completely accurate. The Glock, handcuffs and asp, along with every holster on our gun belts (also not supplied) are paid for out of officers' pockets. And most of those things are required to perform our duties or satisfy policy. Big guy

If you don't like your generous salary, take home car, unlimited sick time, equipment allowance, court pay, ad nauseum, go work somewhere else. If you can't pay your bills, that is "your" fault for mismanaging your finances. Don't buy any extra unneeded equipment if you can't dare stand to spend your money. You are not obligated to.
