Meet the man in "The Mustang" -- LMPD's most feared traffic officer |
RE: Meet the man in "The Mustang" -- LMPD's most feared traffic...
You are correct about good potential candidates getting passed over. I am from Louisville, it is my home and I love the city. Several years ago I applied and tested several times, actually began testing with the old county police before merger, since my dad retired from the county and I wanted to work for the same dept my dad did. I then tested with metro at least 4 times after merger and kept getting passed over, then later I would hear about a recruit screwing up, getting arrested, etc. I have a college degree, I was prior military and at the time I was a city employee, but I kept getting passed over. I eventually was hired by the Indiana State Police and had to move almost 2 hours away from Louisville, away from my home and family. I'd like to come back and protect my home city, but I feel like I'm stuck where I'm at since I've been here so long. But I really wish I could have joined the Louisville ranks initially.
