You can listen to the Internet guy or get yelled at by a C.O. for always hanging off the air for gossip time. There are a few lazy people who like the badge but never liked working, and others who hide from trouble because they aren't up to it anymore and are counting off days to retirement. Sergeants can fix everyone else's problems, but those 2 groups will usually not change their ways, so they ignore, fire, or transfer them. I like option 2 myself. Carry you own load or hit the bricks.
