Hillview Police Chief accused of helping move meth lab

Requiring a 2/3 majority of the Metro Council to approve the Chief's hiring and giving the Chief a fixed term like 4 or 8 years before having to get re-appointed by the Mayor and the Council could make them more independent. Being employed at-will will turn most people into lackeys unless they truly don't care about long term employment. The bigger problem rests below the level of the Chief. The rank of Major should not be politically appointed. They should have to pass tests and get promoted like Lt's and Sergeants. Having green Sergeants turn into green Lieutenants and then green Majors or higher because they are on the right team politically is a disservice to the community.
