2 KSP troopers fired following investigation involving teenage girl

I have never seen anything official or any acknowledgement that LMPD is "short" of officers. I have been on for a while and I have always heard the "we are short" thing being tossed around even when I came on in the 90's. It's hard to tell if it is just officers saying it out of frustration or if we are in fact really short. Besides that, we are hiring each and every year so I think a lot of it is just hype.
