LMPD detective arraigned after shooting unarmed man last year |
How about...
How about the granite curbs, how about the artsy fartsy bike racks downtown, how about the just recently invented position of Violent Crime Initiatvie Secretary (or something like that). Isn't that guy, who I have yet to see making any press releases much less crime reduction initiatives, making like $100,000.00 a year. I guess unless you call re-instituting the SUMMER TASK FORCE some type of original thought to shore up Viper's shortcomings an initiative. Hell, we used to call his newly formed position "Chief of the police Department." How about the discreationary spending money, somewhere upwards of $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 we allowed for each of the the City Council members. (Ala Judy Green and Barbara Shanklin investigations) On top of that, didn't they have a $15,000.00 office decoration fund they could use to update each of their offices. How about the $50,000.00 we paid the Southern Police Institute to re-evaluate all of stops-forms data, something that was already done, to see if we were incompliance. How about all the 3-wheel crime fighting machines that we bought for the downtown area patrol, only guy I ever saw on those was Chris Heaps. So yea I guess you are right, we are hard pressed to say that the city spends money frivously. Open your eyes.
