This is why lmpd academy is too excessive - anyone who can not learn all KRS's in 40 hrs. need not be a cop! It's more important to learn how to "handle" yourself on the streets - you can look up the proper charges(if you don't know} after subject in custody. KSP back - up averages 60 miles away - lmpd is 6 blocks ! There has only been a handful of changes in the KRS since it was implemented in May 1975. Why has class training time increased 4 fold? Dumber recruits? Having served both on the KSP and the LMPD - I would have no concerns about KSP laterals!

I'm a lot more worried about LMPD's lack of practical training. When the bullets fly all that garbage the attorneys say to scare people can cause hesitation in the moment of truth.
