Metro councilman to fund overtime after Hikes Point shooting

Many LMPD recruits seem to come out knowing more of what they cannot do rather than what they can do. I can't believe that the Metro Council condones spending a fortune for a LMPD basic training academy, when taxpayers in Jefferson County are still paying for the statewide academy, to which LMPD could utilize at no cost. Certainly LMPD needs some agency specific training, over and above the 18 weeks, but they also need to learn the basics in the same way other Kentucky officers do ...
