Just an "outsiders"(retired KSP) question - why does this and the immediate past administration not consider lateral transfers ? LMPD academy can reduce their time by 30 -40 percent and get people on the street much faster and with the same amount of knowledge (most learned during the post academy days) and laterals can hit the streets after learning LMPD sop, rules & regulations, policies & procedures (2-3 weeks?)
