You do understand that if you do go with your own attorney, then Metro Louisville has no legal obligation (and thus won't) pay any judgment or settlement, right? You really will be totally on your own. That's the law (specifically 65.200 et seq.) And since now, Metro Louisville itself is immune from suit, they only have you (and other individual defendants) to represent anyway.
The biggest problem is that the idiots that crafted the merger eliminated the city attorneys and left it to the county attorney (a separate entity) to provide represenation.
