The opposite side of that coin is that a prosecutor deciding to slander an officer and ruin their reputation by lodging false charges against them because of politics may end up getting sued and disbarred. There are plenty of better lawyers out there willing and able to take them to task.

But the bottom line is that officers should be prepared to protect their own life first and be prepared for a worst case scenario since Louisville is a Democrat-run town. They will hang people out to dry, so you better have your own way of paying for a qualified attorney. The ones working for the county aren't your lawyer and they aren't necessarily that great either.
