No you are way off base. I am as pro gun as you can get. I'm all for Open Carry. I'm probably one of the few Lifetime members of The NRA on the department. My point is that if you are going to drive a truck with blue lights, have a blue Uniform, a shield, and a similar patch, people are going to assume you are a police officer. This could definitely lead to trouble. Also, I believe if you are going to carry on the job, then basic firearms training, KRS laws, and use of force training should be in place to mitigate lawsuits since the City of Louisville would be in the suit.

Went into a Firehouse in the County to use the bathroom. Saw fire fighters in uniform open carrying. Just shook my head and left.
