The government is better at monitoring the public's text messages than using them to warn the public about chemical spills. Why not give partial credit where it's due.

The right hand (LMPD) and left hand (Metrosafe) dont seem to communicate well. LMPD makes policies and apparently never tells metrosafe. Like LMPD dont make barking dog runs any more but Metrosafe keep dispatching barking dogs and says "we dont know anything about it". Ummmm after th 10th officer, 5th Sgt and 3 Lts. say cancel we dont make those, one would think you would ask you own Metrosafe supervisor. I came name 1/2 dozen dispatcher who have sucked for 15 -20 years and are rude and NOTHING has changed in with the same people.. my OLD OLD friend use to dispatch for LFD 25 plus years ago....when they got hired they actually had a radio test/voice test. They would listen to a transmisson and have to repeat as much as they could remember. If they sucked they WERE NOT hired... if they had a poor, weak irritating voice on tape...they WERE NOT hired....Meteosafe needs to do that....they dont seem to have ANY standards at all.

Off the subject, but....Has anybody noticed several of the City Tow Truck Drivers are open carrying? I'm all for someone's rights to protect themselves, but when they have the patch, badge, and gun on...

I have been with this dept for 10 yrs. I have never seen one of our wrecker drivers do stupid crap or impersonate a sworn officer. They work their tails off and go home dirty and sweaty every day.

They do have patches, drive marked wreckers, and a lot of the public already thinks they are sworn - which in turn makes them a target. If there is no policy in place barring them from carrying concealed or open: LET EM CARRY for their own safety. Heck, one of 'em may save your life one day. I too am an NRA life member.

This officer is lucky to still have his finger. Monkeys riding unsecured in cars are no laughing matter.

Buckle up your monkey, IT'S THE LAW.

"I have to have a raise," the Officer said to the FOP. "There are three other companies after me."

"Is that so?" asked the President. "What other companies are after you?"

"The electric company, the cell phone company, and the gas company."
