Plenty of idiots make it through some of the toughest military training you can think of. Athletic people who are smart enough to keep their mouth shut in training can still graduate, even if they have big personality flaws or no common sense. There are dirtbags who have been fired out of so-called "elite" law enforcement agencies for crimes or misconduct who looked great on paper when they were hired. If rogue unprofessional behavior is tolerated in the justice system among police, lawyers, prosecutors and judges, you will attract and retain rogues.

KSP wants a reputation for running their academy like some Navy Seal training camp. A lot of cops are disillusioned into thinking that kind of training is needed for a civilian police force. Yes, you do need discipline and structure, but to brag that you will have so many drop out before they graduate tells me KSP is way off base.
