I don't think they were making uniform decisions. I think they were just reminding everyone that it's always been the policy of LMPD (whether written or not) to wear a class A with a hat and tie to formal functions like funerals. I personally don't think it was a big deal. I would rather have someone show up to pay their respects in any uniform than to not show up at all.
