Oh lighten up, it was just tasteless humor. It doesn't mean anything in a literal sense. Corruption? Any officer who uses a curse word texts while driving is on the path to corruption, right?

No what the "norm" is is that some officer understand that at times awards are given because of who the person is or who put them in for it. We remember days that officers were given awards for just doing their job, nothing more. That is what pisses officers off. If someone goes beyond what they do that is different. If you are an officer, read the annual report on who gets letters or awards for BS. Sometimes what you do as an officer is just what is expected of you and an award or letter should not be needed to satify an ego. This goes for units also who get "Merit unit citation" just for doing what is expected of their unit.
