There is no requirement for a degree. The requirement is merely that you have 60 hours of college credit...it can all be in generalized study. The change was made because nearly all of the larger departments in Kentucky and in the region were requiring the same thing. Also, before the change was made there was a review of the current officers files and all but 10-15% would have qualified. This was not a huge hurdle for many people to get over, it only reduced some of the applicant pool. Those are the facts!
