Agree. Unfortunately, we are in a public service profession, which means we are subject to our on or off duty actions to be blasted by the vultures in the media. The same media that begs us for information for anything they can to make Top Story headlines. Facts: This was a mistake for Felty, and yes he must now reap the punishment. He was punished both professionaly and no doubt privately. Let's not forget there was another party involved though. The unfortunate thing is the private lives of the families are suffering, and no one should be on here talking about that or adding fuel to a fire. We should just hope they can get past this incident. If this is a "Brotherhood" as many call it, it is the least we should be doing. If this happend in the private sector, we all know would not be in the media. Doubtful the media would have a top headline reading - "Humana or Ford employee punished for having relations on duty". This incident while in the media for now, should be held in private by all of us, and we should hope that the families survive, especially if children are involved.

Our department is ran by instigators of drama. If you ever notice, they will release the name of any officer involved in any ALLEGED drama without hesitation. But what happens when an officer gets into a wreck? The name of the officer has "not been released". Why not? What is the secret and why is there a need to protect the officer's name under these circumstances. Again, LMPD submits to the media hype of drama.
