not all exp. officers sit and complain. I hear 15-25 year officer working as hard as anyone.. not all but several. I have nearly a couple less than 20 and I am the first to leave roll call every day and I guess I still have a bushy tail if riding my beat, making my runs, do traffic stops, ped stops, checking businesses and alleys, doing city calls, taking reports etc.. then yes I have a bushy tail. The couple things everyone needs to remember is, you can't help if u dont get there, be your own person and dont cave to peer pressure and do all u want on the beat no matter what ur beat partners do....if they dont back u then its on them and the CO's....

Reading all the comments on the sr vs jr policing is interesting. I am retired now but remember how exciting everyday at work was and how the old experienced cops us to think us rookies were a bunch of loose cannons and risk takers. That was 23 years ago and we are still talking about the same subject. Funny how somethings never change. We need both the old dogs and the new pups to have a great department. The young officer will make mistakes just as we did and will learn and mature from them. Some of the older officers need to think back on some of the things that they did when they new to the job and yes the young officer should get as much info from the older officers as they can.
