I've known the guy for years. The one thing he has that his predecessor lacked, is a conscience. He will listen and change course if you give him good reason. Unfortunately, his boss may have other plans - or may have restricted his scope of authority on some issues - like his command staff. But let's face it - the previous administration pretty much gutted the department of most of its experienced and proven command - and definitely wore down and rid LMPD of a generation of real leaders.
