Everybody in the public knows the take home car program is a scam. It's a secret the police try to protect but the public knows about it. First of all, off duty police officers rarely assist people in the public (don't ask me for proof for things you already know the truth to). Also, if you live out of Jefferson County what is the point in having an assigned car if you cannot drive it around off duty in Jefferson County thereby creating the illusion that the police are always present?
