Family files wrongful death suit in case of teen shot by police

The problem is, most of these get SETTLED, not decided by a jury or even a judge. That's why so many undeserving recipients end up with big paydays from cities that they just blow through. Police departments are so scared of what a jury would decide, they settle before it gets to that point. And I don't know of any plaintiffs that have turned down a settlement and decided to go to court.
