" One benefit is having a team that can train more regularly than a part-time team. Training 1 or even 2 days a month isn't enough. SWAT should be doing daily physical and tactical training. The other benefit is being able to respond more quickly to a scene, especially when things end up being more dangerous than the SWAT matrix or some overconfident officers thought they were. "

Read that Billy. You know as well as anyone that often times, things just go wrong. Just because something happened does not mean the officers involved were not capable or ill trained, it's just how crap went down. Then one of your guys (seems to be, it's been said) gets on here and makes statements like that. There are ones on the dept that have seen more combat, kicked more doors, some highly decorated for acts of valor. I know of three marksman on the dept. that more than likely would put any of the unit's sniper's engagement sequence on a fleeting target to task that are not in the unit, and it seems they have no desire to be, or doesn't have time, but that doesn't mean they do not know what they are doing.

Officers like you do not invoke the responses you are seeing. But, there are a couple on the Unit that have "overconfident" issues and are constantly talking their crap like they belong to Seal Team 6. It's human nature, I know that, but being in a Unit like Swat is no different than being on the dept., we should not act arrogantly toward the public, anyone for that matter, because we earned a position that we think is hard earned and important, everything is a matter of opinion to that regard. There are some that do not practice that discipline, and I feel we should police each other in that aspect, but that is my personal opinion and I know there are some that disagree.

There are alot of people that are more than capable to perform any job on the dept. they can't or choose not to due to family, or whatever their reasons they may have that is important to them.

I have nothing but respect for you and alot of the guys on the unit, personally and professionally, and the unit as a whole. At least take that from this.

Excuse my poor grammar and incomplete thoughts this morning. I'm trying to type and keep a little one from biting the dog.
