One benefit is having a team that can train more regularly than a part-time team. Training 1 or even 2 days a month isn't enough. SWAT should be doing daily physical and tactical training. The other benefit is being able to respond more quickly to a scene, especially when things end up being more dangerous than the SWAT matrix or some overconfident officers thought they were.
