I see your reasoning...but given the physical size of our jurisdiction versus the authorized strength of the department, a full time SWAT team isn't really warranted. I'd say the response time of SWAT in our current procedure is more than adequate. Besides, if there were a full time team, all you'd hear is bit*hing from everyone about how the street platoons were "robbed" to staff the full time SWAT team. I think the issue at hand is not whether SWAT was available to serve the warrant in question,
