Actually, Bob White did leave a mess. The number of people he did not terminate, even when evidence suggested he should, has left us with the distrust of the community. His promotions of individuals he had a personal investment in has left us with a vacuum of leadership. I will say this for Bob White, he was an ***, and had a presence about him, an arrogance, that filled in for a lack of command presence. Our new chief, who spoke at my recent training, has no presence at all. Nice guy, smart, but no command presence.
