Well let's see...family man, hard worker, no baggage, a good man.

Sounds like a perfect fit for a Major to me.

Another point for the white guys. See, minorities are NOT taking all your jobs. Rest assured.

Sullie will work out great! Give him a chance to get into the Division and get started. Just like the Viper Unit, give it a chance. I'm glad the Chief has opened up the new position.

I definately disagree.

Let me preface this by saying I'm retired...which means I don't really have a stake in Sully's promotion one way or the other now, nor do I "owe" him anything, negative or positive. That being said:

I worked with him years ago in the old 5th. He was a great beat cop, dependable, likeable, intelligent, and was/is truly one of the good guys. I was already in CIS when he was first promoted, and never worked for him, nor with him regularly after that. But I can never recall hearing anyone who did work under him complain. The consensus seemed to be that he was always fair, and a good boss who took care of his troops.

We've all rolled our collective eyes over the years when some seemingly undeserving people "got made", but Sully definately doesn't deserve the eye roll, he deserves this and will surely do a great job. The folks in the 7th should be honored to have him as their Major.

Just my $.02
