Louisville man says two LMPD officers beat him |
RE: Louisville man says two LMPD officers beat him
I understand we had a new mayor when all this started over a year ago and everything needs to be looked at again. I understand our insurance is cheap compared to other departments, but its time for a raise. No I do not want the FOP to rush it and give us some BS to vote on just so the younger officers will vote yes. But is it true they are only meeting once a month for a day and in that day only talk about 4-5 hours? At that rate we will never get anything done! Yes I will be at the FOP meeting tonight-before somebody says something silly like " come to an FOP meeting for a change"

RE: Louisville man says two LMPD officers beat him
I hear you bro. But the only way to do that is to block a month off and sit down and negotiate everyday. This city isn't going to do that. They have like 3 negotiators that at one time were working on negotiating 5-7 contracts at the same time. Not to mention the city/PD would have a coronary if the FOP committee was SD for a month working on the contract. Hell, I gotta say though, I'm not so sure its not better to prolong the process this time around. The economy in Louisville is getting better. Last year was the first time since 2007 that tax revenue went up instead of being in the red. The better the economy the better our chances for a more reasonable contract. My two cents.
