Reorganization coming within Metro Police Department

The elected leaders of the FOP doesn't care.......I have heard them say it. Dave Mutchler, please share your thoughts on here..... 25,000 plus man hours a year on details is pathetic and dispicable.... There are over 3100 plus eight hour shifts each year wasted on details..... Mr. Mayor, Chief...... is anyone listening. WE WOULD LIKE TO RIDE OUR BEATS, WORK OUR ROBBERIES, RAPES, MURDERS, SHOOTINGS, STABBINGS, FATAL CRASHES, POLYGRAPHS, CRIMES AGAINST SENIORS AND CHILDREN, FINANCIAL CRIMES...... OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!

Here are some of the details we work this year on straight time and not serving our beat or working our cases... MLK Motorcade, 2day waterfront independence festival, pegasus parade, thunder, derby, derby eve, west broadway, anthem 5k, balloon race, balloon glow, boat race, pre-thunder, frankfort ave easter parade, march for babies, walk and roll for kids, throo the zoo, st. paddy parade, southern Indiana tri-athlon, running of the rodents, Portland fest, polar bear plunge, papa johns 10 miler, rhodes city run, state fair, 7 UofL football games, iron man, hangover classic, frostbite 5k, downtown doubler, family for fathere walk, May hike and bike, Sept hike and bike, Kyana heart walk.... some years breeders cup and PGA.... I am sure I forgot several.....

What you crimefighters don't understand is that crime in bad neighborhoods has always been a lower priority for city hall than the special event details. It's not an oversight or an accident. It's a conscious political decision to provide some entertainment for the citizens. Most of the daytime violent crime is in the bad neighborhoods nobody really cares about and most people consider normal.

Why so many details....Just watch Gladiator! Distract the people from the real issues...
