Reorganization coming within Metro Police Department

August 28th, 2012 @ 11:30PM (12 years ago)

Councilman David James says we do have a gang problem whether Chief White wanted to admit it or not. Really? And councilman what evidence do you have of that? You were on LPD when LPD came up with the Gang Unit before White got there. It lasted for about 2 years and BOOM!—Gone! Wonder why? Stop saying Louisville has a gang problem NOW!!!!! Gang problem exists only in the heads of dumb cops who wish to believe their job is more dangerous than it really is.

For those whining about Chief Conrad not doing anything, well here you go. I am not advocating these ideas. Some may be good or bad. But, he is doing something. Only time will tell.

GETTING RID OF SECTORS

August 29th, 2012 @ 12:21PM (12 years ago)

GETTING RID OF SECTORS IS DUE TO NOT HAVING ENOUGH OFFICERS ON THE BEAT BECAUSE WE ARE ALLOCATING THEM TO THE NEW VIPER UNIT. NOW THEY WILL DISPATCH WHO EVER IS AVAILABLE NOT WHO IS CLOSEST TO THE RUN SO WE WILL SEE HOW THIS WILL BE...

All the tuff guys on LMPD couldn't wait for ole Chief White to leave to start up a unit like this. White wasn't having it and the tuff guys pouted until he left. Now it looks like Chief Conrad has heard the cries. In about 2 years let's see where the Viper Unit is. I predict dissolved. Why? Units like Viper attract rogues and there is no accountability. When it happens, I'll just say "I told you so."

Violent crime targeted, illegal drug trade to prosper. The narcotics unit was slashed to laughable levels. Our LMPD administration is very weak on narcotics crimes. Nice try but this will fail as have the task forces have every year. We can't keep locking them up to solve the problems because the liberal courts just let them right out. Change the courts liberal attitude and watch crime rates drop.

Ahh but see... there is no crime anymore because Shep Square, Iroquois and Clarksville are demolished.

Problem solved.

No worries.

Once Beecher is gone we can all have BBQ's in Liberty Green at midnight..

Since we are always held accountable, can someone tell me who enforces the parking in the fop lot? It's impossible to park there, and I know thats not all lmpd parking in there.

Here is an idea- lets all park on the street-take all the parking spots around court and HQ for a three block radius after a few weeks they will get the point.

How many more Marathons can this city handle? I mean really, two more for the month of September!!!! The FOP need's to get on this & we should receive overtime. This is getting out of control.

Louisville, The Compasionate City. LOL. That's right, keep sending use those homesless people from the other major cities; Detroit, Cinci, Columbus, Atlanta & New Orleans. These listed cities are sending their homeless problems to us via bus. They purchase them a ticket and give them some cash and we take care of them. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!

a little bit from the communist journal.... if VIPER remains as number driven as the summer task force, what do you think will happen

Whitlock said people he knows are afraid of the police because they have become so aggressive. Instead of making so many stops, Whitlock said, police should be trying to build relationships in the community and with groups like his, Getting All People, or GAP.

In response, Lt. Col. Yvette Gentry said her officers, who have been running a special violent crime task force the past several weeks, have been working to keep crime at bay. Gentry said she has received no complaints from the public about excessive use of force or other bad behavior by officers involved in those efforts.

Officers have been busy connecting with community groups and volunteering for cleanup efforts and other projects, she said. Gentry also said she, other officers and the Christian officers’ group Shield of Faith have donated to Whitlock’s efforts to help youth.

“We’re doing a better job of listening to everyone,” she said.
