Man arrested in Louisville Arby's after refusing to cover gun, police say |
RE: Man arrested in Louisville Arby's after refusing to cover...
Haha. Crazy, I won the ironman yesterday too. I'm not even a little bit sore, wimp. To me it would make sense to tell officers if they want to wear their firearms in the open, that they must have their badge prominently displayed next to it. I don't buy the "judges don't like it" argument, because it seems to be a LMPD issue only. Officers from other agencies (Shively, J-town, Probation and Parole, etc...) don't appear to be subject to this wide sweeping directive. Many have their weapons on their belts everyday. So, is it truly a judge and court driven movement, or just the brass getting upset another SOP is being disregarded??

A judge in Harlan County (I know, strange, but true) did exactly that, demanded NO officer be armed in his courtroom. The Sheriff promptly pulled the deputies and refused to transport any prisoners to and from the courtroom. It took some major pressure from the AOC to get the idiot to back off. The decision does fall to the judge.
