"You cannot prosecute 'pre-crime' and it is NOT the responsibility of law enforcement to guarantee the well being and safety of the citizenry."

Did you not see Minority Report? We've ordered a system with alien godesses floating in ambionic fluid who can predict the future. You should attend compstat...it was outlined in detail.

It is part I our job to use our training and established instincts to investigate suspicious incidents, hence our lawful abilities granted to us under the Terry ruling. No one said anything about "prosecuting pre-crime". Investigating "pre-crime" IS an essential part of a good policeman's job. Now if you are one of those that just sits around waiting for the next call then you may not understand. I don't know enough about this incident to judge but maybe the Sgt. or whoever's instincts may have compelled him to confront this guy. I am a huge supporter of our 2nd amendment but would never carry openly just because I can in spite of he public who may become alarmed. Get a CCDW and go about your business. If you are unable to get one then you probably aren't capiable, mature, or responsible enough to handle a firearm anyway. Firearms are no joke and should be treated with respect. We have a right to free speech too but is it ok for me to stand in line at Arby's and MF the stranger next to me "because I have the right to do so"? Common sense man. Idiots like that guy are the reason why liberals gain ground on their arguments to curb gun rights.
